Prison cell with space outside– As it was when this was an operating prison. Complete with single or bunk iron bedframe, stainless steel sink, toilet (non-operational) and some have a small table inside.
Narrow door opening for entry and particularly suitable for those offering services such as one to one tarot/psychic readings/massage or other therapies etc. or for storage.
You may use the cell as you wish. Advisable to stick a poster on the wall outside if you trade from a cell telling people what you are offering/selling.
CELLS DO NOT HAVE LIGHTING – so you will need battery operated lighting of some sort (no naked flames).
Tables and chairs – tables measure approx. 6’ x 2’ and are available for ground floor traders only at an extra cost of £12.
These are hired in, so need to be pre-booked. The table will be put in place for you by our staff but MUST be folded up and returned to the visitor area by the trader after the event.
You must bring your own chair(s). There will NOT be spare tables or chairs available on the day.
Ground floor space: You can buy a space in some parts of the prison to place your own table/display/couch etc. This is approximately a 6’ x 3’ space to include the table and any banners or equipment.
Spaces in certain areas of the prison are limited so you may be placed in any part of the prison, but you will be with other traders, so you won’t get spooked 😊
Adult only area –This is in a segregated area with a watcher to ensure under 18s (except babes in arms) do not enter.
If you offer adult content i.e. handmade bondage items and novelties, handmade kink/fetish wear, erotica, naughty toiletries, slogan clothing, literature, art etc this is the place for you.
This May market hosts the 18+ traders either in the visitor area or prison kitchen.
If you need extra space for any reason you will need to specify more than 1 pitch space.
Power is not available unless you are in the 1st floor chapel or ground floor visitor area (often used for 18+ content traders only). If you require power please indicate on the form where appropriate and be aware you will be on the 1st floor and there is no lift – sockets are limited on a 1st come 1st served basis. You should bring your own PAT tested extension cable as this will be required.
Please note some areas are darker and you may require extra lighting; battery operated lights are useful as no power is required.
The prison is a VERY COLD venue – please wrap up, I will send a reminder but must stress some cells do not have complete glass and it’s a cold venue.
Confirmation, cancellation and payment terms
All applications will be considered and if your application is approved you will be offered a space to trade.
Upon being offered a space, I will give details of how to make payment and this will need to be made within 7 days of the offer, or the space will be offered on to reserves.
There will not be a reminder for payment, or any extension granted, it is up to you to make a timely payment for space to trade.
When payment is received you will receive email confirmation and your pitch is guaranteed.
If, for whatever reason, you are unable to attend – cancellations made more than 35 days prior to the event will be refunded in full (minus a £10 admin fee).
Cancellations after that time are non-refundable.
Your pitch is booked for your business and is non-transferrable; if you are unable to run your pitch and have a replacement vendor in mind, this will need to be agreed with us and we reserve the right to refuse if this results in too many of 1 genre.
The building has limited accessibility – please indicate on the application if you require a ground floor space to trade as there is no lift and we will use both ground and 1st floor cells.
Exclusivity for any trader/genre is not offered (except for F&B providers).

Psychic readers (tarot, astrology, aura reading, palmistry etc), preloved/reworked/handmade alternative/gothic/vintage clothing shoes and accessories, therapies (Indian Head, seated massage, reflexology, crystal healing etc), witchy/new age, all things gothic, all things steampunk, tattoo themed, piercing/body jewellery, music (actual music or merch/related items), body products, art, handmade oddities, taxidermy, literature, handmade homewares, adult content (handmade bondage items and novelties, handmade kink/fetish wear, erotica, naughty toiletries, slogan clothing, literature, art) or anything else which is unique and non-standard.
